Eglee Escorihuela has worked with the ID/DD population for over 30 years. She has a son with autism who she has supported and advocated for throughout his life. She became a job coach, a position she held for 12 years, once her son moved out of the home. Eglee has worked in various areas of the human services field from community engagement, direct support staff at a group home, community coaching and in-home supports.

She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, attending church, cooking, and grilling. Having family style lunch and dinner are important to Eglee and her family. Eglee enjoys being out in the community, shopping, going to the library, attending cultural festivals and events and local shops. Being of service to others is Eglee’s passion and purpose. She says, “When you put positivity out in the world, positive things will come back you.”

Eglee’s home is in Lorton, VA where she resides with her brother and a supported female who receives sponsored residential services and enjoys a very peaceful and quiet life.  Eglee has lived here for several years and owns her property. The home is safe, quiet, and minutes away from the Potomac Mills Outlet Mall, Springfield Mall, Community Park, Sheffield Park, Lorton Library, and South Stream Valley Park. She is excited to welcome a second individual into her home.

The home is a three-level, 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home located in a sub-division. A sidewalk from the driveway leads to the front door of the home. There are steps leading to the front door and a half bath. A deck on the back of the home offers opportunities for outdoor living and relaxation.

The home has a bedroom in the completed basement which Eglee’s brother occupies. The third level of the home includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Eglee and the current supported individual occupy two of these bedrooms. The available bedroom shares a half bath on the third level.
