About Us

Wall Residences has been providing person-centered support and individualized care to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities including those with a co-occurring long-term mental illness in Virginia’s New River Valley since 1995.

Our services include sponsored residential (also known as family care providers), group homes, in-home support for individuals who live independently or in their family home, personalized day support programs through community engagement and coaching, and therapeutic consultation.

Our network of hundreds of licensed sponsored residential provider homes gives each individual the chance to find the perfect fit. We focus heavily on making ideal matches for long term relationships and placement. Each licensed home also includes a full set of trained back up workers to ensure continuity of care in every situation. The care provided by Wall Residences’ providers and DSPs focuses on inclusion, compassion, and acceptance. Sponsored Residential care allows the individual to make genuine connections within the provider family and the local community, while increasing skills and independence.

Group homes feature 24-hour awake staff, caring for up to four individuals around the clock. Person-centered support is stressed, with an emphasis on skill building and engagement with meaningful activity, volunteering, and the pursuit of hobbies.

Community Engagement & Community Coaching in Virginia's New River Valley

Wall Community Options offers a community engagement and community coaching service directed by the individual and their person-centered plan. The program supports adults with intellectual disabilities to acquire, retain, or improve skills necessary to build positive social behavior, interpersonal competence, greater independence, employability, and personal choice. The program is designed to optimize a person’s initiative, autonomy, and independence.

Therapeutic Consultation in Virginia's New River Valley

Our Therapeutic Consultation services help people with disabilities reach their goals, improve their social skills, gain more autonomy and navigate life’s challenges. Our team of clinicians includes Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs), Licensed Behavior Analysts, Licensed Assistant Behavior Analysts, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW). The entire therapeutic staff is trained to offer comprehensive and inclusive consultations.

Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Therapy in the New River Valley of Virginia

Wall Residences’ sister company Wall Therapeutic Solutions now provides disability services for children as well as adults. Our ABA Therapy Clinic based in Christiansburg, VA makes applied behavioral analysis easily accessible for New River Valley, VA families. If your child lives in or near the New River Valley, they also may be eligible for in-home ABA therapy.

This intensive therapy program helps children build social skills, prepare for life transitions, work on their speech, improve their communication, and gain new play skills.
