Anthony and Melissa Johnson have a dedicated work history along with fifteen years of experience in providing therapeutic care for children and adolescents with disabilities needing a supportive environment. Anthony has worked in the field of printing for a local newspaper for 30 years and Melissa has worked for the same banking institution for over 30 years. Anthony and Melissa are both active in their community as they provide support and resources through community-based activities.
The Johnson’s love spending time with their five adult children, two grandchildren and their “grand dogs,” Bruno and Oreo. The Johnson’s are looking to share their home to support someone looking to reside in a warm, safe, and caring family environment. In addition to community activities, the Johnsons love going to the movies, sporting events, dining out, going on family vacations, and other various outings. They are excited about sharing these and other activities with those individuals that they will support in their home.
The couple wholeheartedly embraces the idea of creating a person-centered life with the individual they support. It has been Melissa’s lifelong dream to open her home to support adults. She describes herself as a lifelong caregiver and that her life’s purpose and passion is helping others grow and succeed.
The Johnson’s live in a beautifully decorated five-bedroom, three full bath home. One bathroom features full wheelchair accessibility. The bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, and spacious outdoor deck are all on the upper level. The lower level includes a spacious family room, full bath, laundry room, office, and a bonus room for leisure. Both levels of the home are wheelchair accessible. The home has beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain views and is near shopping and dining destinations, community events, and activities.
