Payment Accepted

FIS (Family & Individual Supports) Waiver, BI (Building Independence) Waiver, or CL (Community Living) Waiver accepted. Private pay available.

Wall Star Centers operate during daytime hours Monday through Friday. Individuals and their support team set their weekday attendance schedule with Star Center management when they begin attending.

Wall Star Centers offer a comfortable, safe, enriching environment for adults aged 18 and older. Our carefully chosen staff operate as a team to ensure safety, respect, and kindness are at the root of everything we do.

Your Day at the Star Center

You’ll spend your days learning or improving self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills through fun and enriching activities within the center and in the surrounding community. We strive to provide opportunities to engage with peers and the local community through volunteering, skill acquisition, social skills development, and building safe community connections. Most of all, you’ll have fun!

Day Support Near You

Our Star Center Locations

We currently offer day programs for adults at Star Centers in four Virginia communities: Christiansburg, Floyd, Galax, and Waynesboro. More locations are coming soon.

New River Valley

Christiansburg Star Center

Conveniently situated on Main Street in Christiansburg, Virginia, this Star Center offers charming surroundings, walkable outings, and a comfortable setting.

Floyd/New River Valley

Floyd Star Center

Our original Star Center is based in Floyd, Virginia. Now occupying an entire building near downtown Floyd, our Floyd Star Center offers a spacious, comfortable setting for Day Support.

Galax Star Center

Serving southwestern Virginia, our Galax Star Center has large, comfortable spaces for active and quiet times, including a separate sensory room.

Close to many opportunities for outings and community interaction, our large, comfortable Waynesboro Star Center serves the Shenandoah Valley region.

Personal Choice

Star Center participation is not a one-size-fits-all model. Every participant has a personalized activity schedule based on their own wants and needs. You participate in developing your plan and schedule.

Community Connections

Wall Star Centers are placed within the community with a goal of building safe community connections. Staff and management actively seek opportunities for participants to interact with local community members, coach individuals to recognize safe connections, and teach how to seek help when needed.

Joyful Places

Our centers are carefully designed to be comfortable, with rooms for active, fun activities as well as quiet, soothing spaces for calming overstimulation when needed. Walk into a Wall Star Center and you’ll likely see smiles and joy as individuals and staff go about their daily activities.

RN Care Management Support

Medical support by Registered Nurses increases quality of care.

Wall Residences Day Support services are supported by a team of RN Care Managers, who ensure best-practice standards for medical support are upheld. All Wall medical trainings are led by Registered Nurses.

Our RN Care Management

  • Supports program management understanding of health management
  • Acts as a resource for DSPs and Program Management to best manage each person’s health needs
  • Ensures standards of care through protocol development and RN training
  • Develops medical trainings based on current best practices
  • Reviews all new admissions for medical needs for proactive health management
  • Educate staff on medical advocacy
  • Collaborates with Program Management and provides education to minimize preventable accidents and illnesses
  • Provides a high level of specialized medical knowledge

No. Activities are offered in both center-based and community-based formats. Individuals have the choice and opportunity to participate in both. Services are offered in larger group settings within the center and in smaller groups when venturing into the community.

Day support at Wall Star Centers focuses on community collaboration and social connections while also:
