About the Providers

Prior to becoming a provider with Wall Residences in 2000, Laura Gunter-Vaughn worked at the Lynchburg Detention Center. Before becoming Laura’s co-provider, Ryan Branigan served as a lead DSP for Laura and also worked as a DSP at a Day Support Program.

Laura shared “with over 25 years of experience supporting individuals in our home with a variety of needs, we’ve developed both the skills and compassion necessary to provide consistent, respectful, and person-centered care. Over time, this work has become more than a profession—it’s something we truly value and take pride in every day.”

The family enjoys staying active in their community through group outings such as dining out and attending local events and also enjoy traveling. Their home features a large, inviting yard in a family-friendly neighborhood well-suited for walking and spending time outdoors. Laura has numerous community and local family connections, providing additional support and friendship. Laura shares her home with three adult males she currently supports as well as her husband.

About the Home

The home offers spacious, open living areas across three levels including multiple living rooms, family rooms, offices, and dens. The individuals reside on a dedicated level featuring an open-concept living and dining area, separate kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room. This level provides single-level living and is fully wheelchair accessible.

Laura shared, “Ryan and I became care providers because we have always had a strong passion for helping others and making a meaningful difference in their lives. We find it deeply rewarding to support individuals in reaching their fullest potential and living healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives. With over 25 years of experience supporting individuals in our home with a variety of needs, we’ve developed the skills and compassion necessary to provide consistent, respectful, and person-centered care. Over time, this work has become more than a profession, it’s something we truly value and take pride in every day.”
