About the Providers
Anna owned and operated a restaurant for 16 years before selling the business and pursuing a degree in Human Services. Her career path led her to become a job coach supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving success through community employment. Chris spent two decades in the restaurant industry developing a national brand across the region. After retirement, he enjoyed being an active band dad during their youngest son's high school years before transitioning into a role as a Direct Support Professional, supporting individuals with disabilities living independently in the community.
Anna and Chris stay active and engaged through a variety of hobbies including going to the YMCA, gardening, drawing, painting, crafting, enjoying music, attending sporting events, traveling, and spending time with friends and neighbors. They especially enjoy birdwatching from their front porch while sharing morning coffee. Family is an important part of their lives and they host a large Thanksgiving gathering in their home each year.
Anna and Chris share their home with their two adult sons, a friendly senior Schnauzer, and a senior cat. Their youngest son works at the local Kroger and is a tenor drummer with the Roanoke College Marching Band. Their other son builds airplane engines and enjoys designing and fabricating custom automotive modifications and trailers. They also have four adult children who live outside the home and remain a close part of their lives.
About the Home
The home offers a large family room that includes both a library and game room, creating a welcoming space for relaxation. The dining room provides ample seating for frequent gatherings. This home is a great fit for an individual who loves music. An additional living room on the main level is filled with musical instruments, providing opportunities for creativity and enjoyment. Also located on the main level are three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a convenient laundry room.
The kitchen serves as a favorite gathering place and features a cherished armchair affectionately known as “the kitchen chair.” The chair was moved into the kitchen several years ago by one of their sons as a convenient place to sit while waiting for his ramen noodles to cook. What began as a practical solution quickly became a beloved family fixture. Anna shared that it remains a comfortable spot for relaxing and chatting with Chris while he prepares meals.
Just off the main level is a large deck overlooking the backyard and beautiful mountain views. While the home primarily offers one-level living, the upstairs includes an additional bedroom, bathroom, and office space. The basement provides extra storage and flexible space, adding to the home's comfort and functionality.
