About the Provider

Prior to becoming a provider in 2023, Angie Elcox began her career as a DSP at the Central Virginia Training Center. She later transitioned to a Group Home DSP role and served as a house manager for over a decade. Angie also has experience as a backup worker for a provider which inspired her to pursue this path herself. She creates a safe, nurturing environment built on mutual respect. She enjoys being actively involved in family life through cooking, socializing, and participating in community activities.

Angie has various skills such as utilizing a VNS monitor for seizures, following protocols for fall prevention, managing emotional outbursts, and supporting eating a healthy well-balanced meal with diet modifications.

About the Home

Angie’s home features off-street parking, a welcoming front porch, a spacious deck, and a large yard. Inside, there is a comfortable living room and eat-in kitchen. The bathroom includes a step-in shower equipped with grab bars and non-slip mats for safety. The home is also equipped with a washer and dryer for added convenience.

The most meaningful part of Angie’s job has been to see individuals happy when they are having a good day and feeling like another member of the family. She likes to hear positive feedback not only from the individual in her service but from others when it shows how well they are taken care of.
