The Koiner family lives in the scenic Hickory Hills area in Fishersville just off Goose Creek Road. The three level spacious home is set on 2 ½ acres and is located very close to Augusta Health Hospital and all of its facilities. The home is within minutes of many parks, libraries, shopping centers and restaurants. An individual in the Koiner service will have access to these sites as well as the movies, Special Olympics sporting events, the option to attend a Special Disciples class at a local church, local day support programs, or an individualized schedule.
Larra is a Registered Nurse who worked for Augusta Health for 27 years. Larra has 12 years of experience working in various direct care departments in the hospital with medical/surgical experience, and 15 years’ experience working in the Home Health and Hospice setting. Prior to becoming a Direct Support Provider with Wall Residences, Mark was a local contractor and built various homes and commercial buildings in the area. Mark & Larra have been providers since 2007 and offer a very active and loving home environment. Mark and Larra enjoy going camping, having cookouts, taking day trips and family vacations.
The Koiners currently provide direct care and support for three individuals in a group home setting with an opening for one additional individual. The Koiner family would love to open their hearts and their home to another individual looking for a loving and caring environment that they can call their home as well. Anyone choosing to live here will have their own private bedroom and a shared bathroom. There is an open floor plan with a family room for watching movies and entertaining guests. There is a common kitchen/dining area where everyone can gather for meals as well as work on crafts and any other projects that are planned from time to time. Outside is a patio area that has a beautiful view of the Shenandoah Valley. The Koiners support the individuals to have birthday parties, dinner dates, and dances at their home at various times throughout the year.
Mark and Larra would love to share their home with an individual that is looking for a loving, caring, family oriented home environment that includes relationships with extended family, grown children, grandchildren and pets. The Koiner family looks forward to making a difference in someone’s life.
