Referrals to Wall Residences services are received from the individual needing services, a case manager, a natural family member or a worker from any state agency or private hospital setting. At the point that a referral is received, arrangements are made to conduct an interview with the individual and with others (including involved natural family members) who may know the individual’s needs and preferences. Through interaction to get to know the person we make our best determination of what will work, what doesn’t work and what activities and relationships will help the person to achieve their highest level of personal success. It is only through this process of getting to know the person that we are able to make the best match to the dozens of available services. Once an appropriate service has been identified, we then request additional services documentation and arrange for visits with potential providers. The individual and their family are encouraged to make a choice from several available options.
We strive to be customer service oriented and to be responsive to requests for help in a quick and efficient manner. If we do not seem to have an option that will meet the needs of the individual, we will let the referring individual or agency know just as soon as possible so other options may be sought. We will also work with a referring individual, family or case manager to work on long term planning for the very individualized support needs of difficult to serve individuals. This can include development of a service for one person in the home of someone that the individual already knows well.
To get started, please call Jack Wall or Kamala Bauers at (540) 745-4216 or contact the Program Manager that serves your region. We will make arrangements to visit the individual who needs services just as soon as possible. We may also request that the case manager fax us some documentation for the individual at this time.
