PROGRAM MANAGER’S POSITION OPENING

The applicant must possess the following qualifications, skills and abilities:

KNOWLEDGE OF TREATMENT AND TRAINING ISSUES
The applicant must have several years of high level experience with the delivery of services to people with disabilities in a multidisciplinary environment. This service experience must be with mental retardation, developmental disabilities and long-term mental health populations. The applicant must have used this experience to learn how to apply a variety of treatment services including the coordination of specialized healthcare, training in activities of daily living and behavior management strategies. In addition, the applicant must be versed in broad categories of mental health treatment for problems such as anxiety disorders, thought disorders, personality disorders and mood disorders. In addition to hands-on practical experience, the applicant must have a minimum of a Bachelors’ degree with course work in abnormal psychology, special education and social work.

ASSESSMENT SKILLS
The applicant must be able to follow directions to complete reports for social or developmental assessments, home study reports, behavioral assessments, functional assessments and investigations of complaints of abuse, neglect or general disagreement.

THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION SKILLS
The applicant must be able to work to resolve conflict and to perform therapeutic interventions to promote healing and well being with clients and caregivers.

WRITING SKILLS
The applicant must be able to organize information into well written narrative reports applying knowledge of professional terminology, descriptions of appropriate treatment strategies and assessment content using good English and spelling skills.

COMPUTER SKILLS
The applicant must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and be able to professionally format documents using this software. In addition, the worker must be proficient with the use of e-mail, computer networks and other current office technology.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
The applicant must possess good leadership and management skills including:
a. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, appropriate goals and objectives for clients and supervised workers.
b. Team Player – Relationships in the Wall Residences. organization are collaborative, not authoritative. Positional authority is rarely used. Personal credibility of and respect for the Program Manager is earned through the demonstration of knowledge of how to lead a team effort to achieve the desired outcomes. The Program Manager must understand what the desired outcomes are for the treatment team in the development of a strong, comprehensive service for each client in services. The Program Manager must be able to access necessary information and help from other professionals and peers throughout the service delivery system in healthcare, mental healthcare and general community services.

Anticipated Salary Range: $30,000 to 45,000 per year plus full benefits package, a company car, laptop computer and cellular telephone.
